Insider tip: The standing area has a unique origin story: British and Australian visitors simply refused to sit down — and so the first standing-room zone of the Wiesn (the Oktoberfest) was born.

Insider tip: Despite the calm and traditional façade: according to a former head of security, historically the most altercations happened here — the cosy mood is sometimes deceptive.
